Fun with Felix

Hey there Monarch fans! I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend....and what a beautiful, warm one it was. In fact, it was warm enough for me to get sunburned in P.G. (even though I am known to burn in the shade!) Ouch! This week we are back to our normal, everyday Pacific Grove fog. At least it’s knitting weather! The end of last week, Joan shared our brand new, hand dyed, sock yarn called Felix. I gotta say, this has got to be one of the funnest sock yarns we’ve carried! It’s just amazing how they are hand-dyed to look like a clown fish...

or like the 4th of July...

so very patriotic! I fell in love with the watermelon colorway...

I went home over my weekend and knit some Churchmouse Turkish Bed Socks! Check out these cute little watermelon socks...

so quick and easy one sock took me one day. The cool thing is one ball of this fab sock yarn will make 2 pairs of these! Good idea for planning ahead for Christmas knitting!

Joan finished knitting her “Carousel Sock” too! Look how fun this came out!

Sooooo cute! What a cool and interesting way to make socks!! The pattern is free, it comes from Knitty.com.

There is a really fun colorway we love that is called “Cat in the Hat”. This colorway comes with the solid black, and the red and white colorway in 2 seperate little hanks. Very convenient! You don’t even hafto cheat to get the colors where you want!

There is a free pattern that comes with it for some wacky socks....

or gloves...

My lovely co-worker Daine went crazy for these!! She couldn’t cast on quick enough...her needles are practically smoking! I might not be able to resist this one either! Who doesn’t love Cat in the Hat?! - “We looked, then we saw him step on the mat! We looked, and we saw him wearing socks.... like Cat in the Hat”. haha! Little Dr. Suess for ya ;)

We just love Biscotti & Cie! We are very happy to stock these wonderful yarns and look forward to carrying more in the future! :)

We got in some great new colors Joseph Galler’s Alpaca this week! Check out these 4 gorgeous colors....

Oh my, oh my so pretty. It almost makes me want to make another Churchmouse Easy folded Poncho. Well....almost. I just adore my poncho, but sooooo much stockinette! haha! Great TV knitting though. I have so much left over from my poncho, I might make a beret to match! Joseph Galler Alpaca is just wonderful for many projects! I’ve seen this yarn knitted in sweaters, shawls, scarves....all so beautiful, soft, and drapey! It’s always been our most popular Alpaca yarn, great price and such generous yardage! 665 yards per skein!!

A nice big shipment of “Tempo” came in recently with a new color!

such a pretty purpley blue! I love it! We got in lots more of the other colors we had before too ‘cause we sold out! That Tempo scarf is what did it!

Alrighty! That’s all folks! We hope you all have a great weekend... with lots of relaxing knitting time!
