A Drizzling of New Stuff
Hey Gang! Koryn has a few well-deserved days off so you're hearing from the Queen herself -- Joan here! Hope everyone's staying out of the misty rain-type stuff and cozying up to their knitting!
This week we're happy to report the traveling Gypsy Dragon, a guy from down in LA, stopped by with more of his fantastic vintage buttons!
These are glass buttons from Germany, made in a factory that was in production from the 1920's to the early 60's. The ones we love most have that deep-color sparkle that only comes from the true vintage button! Plus, the price is right on these bad boys! We added another several hundred to our collection so come take a look! And remember, a new set of buttons on a tired old garment can make it better than new again!
Okay, now we move down to those cute tootsies of yours! We brought in a new load of my very favorite sock yarn in the whole world, not just for the awesome colorways but also for the soft feel and the durability -- Mountain Colors Bearfoot!
My all time favie! Great new colors and some old classics. Many sock yarns (which I also like) are wool with nylon, but this super-high-quality sock yarn uses mohair for it's strengthener -- all natural! Oh, for those who haven't heard my hard and fast sock-knitting rule -- those babies have to last longer than it took to make 'em! So you don't wanna use yarn you walk right out of in a few wearings! That's the rule! So come & get the Bearfoot while it lasts.
And finally, while Koryn's away, she won't be wearing her fantastic new poncho, so I snuck it up on display until she gets back! Tee hee!
You already saw this project before it was done. Now it's done! It's a super easy new pattern from Churchmouse Classics, called Easy Folded Poncho! She made the cowl-neck version because you know how Koryn is about cowls! She can't get enough of them! This poncho is all drape and warm style, because it's made out of Joseph Galler Alpaca. So it's also economical! She did have to break into a second skein, but just barely, so there's plenty left over for other beautiful items! Like, Yeah! A Cowl! Haha!!
Well that's it for this week, I'm glad Koryn usually does this blogging thing because I'm exhausted!! Bye fer now!!
